The Cafe Restaurant Review: Greek Food, Breakfast and Lunch in Cape Coral
The Cafe Restaurant is a family-owned restaurant that’s been serving Greek food and American breakfast and lunch to Cape Coral since 1986. The restaurant is spacious and has many booths for diners to enjoy their meals in.
They serve breakfast all day long and they’re open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. For breakfast, they have omelettes, pancakes, waffles, French toast, biscuits and gravy, eggs Benedict, and more.
Lunch at The Cafe Restaurant
We opted to order lunch. They have different lunch specials each day that come with soup. The soup of the day was navy bean.
There are many wraps, sandwiches, salads, burgers, and entrees. Our server, Vicky, told us they were known for their Reuben sandwich and their Greek cuisine, of course. We knew we had to order some signature Greek dishes!
I ordered the moussaka entree and was informed that it came with the soup of the day or a Greek salad. I chose the Greek salad.
It was so fresh and came with crisp romaine lettuce, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, crumbles of feta cheese, and the best part was the homemade Greek dressing! The dressing was so good that I asked for more to go with the veggies that came with my entree.
Moussaka and Greek Salad
The entrees came out very quickly, which was great because we came hungry! The moussaka was a very generous portion. It had layers of ground beef, potatoes, eggplant, a cream sauce, and cheese on top.

You could taste the warm spices like nutmeg and the heartiness of the beef. I was thoroughly impressed, and you could tell it was made with love.
Not only was it delicious and a great portion, but it was $15.95, which is a great deal, especially since it came with soup or salad.
Also on the dish was fresh tomato, Kalamata olives, feta, lettuce, pepperoncini, and cucumber. This is why I asked for more of that homemade Greek dressing!
Gyro, Frappe and Baklava
Marissa got the gyro sandwich on pita bread. It was topped with a house-made tzatziki, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and served with crispy fries.

She was very pleased with her meal, but she knew she was saving some of her appetite for a frappe and the last piece of homemade baklava.
The frappe had a beautiful foam on top and was exactly what Marissa wanted. The baklava was a big piece with layers of filo dough, chopped nuts, and honey. It was so rich and everything you would want in a baklava.
Our Experience at The Cafe Restaurant
We were thoroughly impressed by our meal and the outstanding service from Vicky. She was very attentive, filled up our drinks without us having to ask, and was very knowledgeable of the menu.
She even saw we were having a hard time reading the specials on the board and provided us with the specials on a piece of paper that she handwrote herself.
The Cafe Restaurant is a family-owned restaurant, but anyone who has ever eaten here can agree that you are treated like family as soon as you walk through the doors.
This place has such charm, hefty portions, reasonable prices, and great service. Please consider dropping by for a delicious breakfast and lunch! I can’t wait to bring my family here for a meal and support this local business.
